New RID clips

So these new clips of RID2015 were just released, and I'm going to give my random thoughts on them.

The first thing that comes to mind is that holy shit, this is actually FUN. Not TFP's pseudo grimdark boringness, but actual fun moments and characters! I loved Grimlock trying to be a truck, and Sideswipe's little obsession with music. See? That's an actual fun character trait! Sideswipe likes music and dancing! I couldn't tell you what 95% of TFP characters liked, or what they were into.

Bumblebee being a lieutenant pretty much confirms that he isn't leader of all Autobots, but just a squad leader. I like that they're using actual military ranks, makes the Autobots feel like an actual unit, if that makes sense.

Fixit doesn't get a video? Fuck him then, I guess. Speaking of, I'm not sure about him. His whole "faulty wiring" schtick feels kind of forced. "I order you to stand clown, stand brown, stand down!" was kind of a groan moment.

The animation is kind of iffy. The facial animation in particular looks pretty choppy. 

Steeljaw is cool. His voice is good, he had a couple of cool lines, and for once, a new Decepticon leader. Have we ever had a TF show where Megatron/Galvatron wasn't the main antagonist? It's a refreshing turn.

Shark guy (Hammerstrike or something, I think?) was totally David Kaye. Hope he's a recurring character.

Optimus sounds just as dull as in TFP. Guess we have to wait until TF5 for Cullen to be allowed to act again.

Sideswipe is such a weeaboo. He has fucking kanji on his chest. And he gave Strongarm a wet willy. I have no idea how that works with Transformers, but okay.

The gun sounds are even worse than in TFP. Talk about peashooters. 

And I still love Strongarm. That is all.
