Finishing off the Wave 1 Aerialbots, and Deluxes in general, it's Skydive! Yaaaaaay..
In alt mode, Skydive is a pretty basic looking jet. These Aerialbots still can't hide their arms particularly well, just like on the others, they're right there. The larger wings mean he hides them a bit better than Firefly, at least, but they still mess with the silhouette. Speaking of the wings, he unfortunately lacks the cool lightning bolt patterns that the original had, being replaced by boring gold stripes. It doesn't bug me too much, but the lightning bolts would have made this mode more exciting. I do really like the little missiles molded on the undersides, though. Oddly enough for a jet Transformer, there's no landing gear. I have no idea why. I guess it wouldn't fit in the parts count? It's not a huge deal, he balances fine on his kibble, but it just feels like something's missing.
Transformation is the typical Deluxe Aerialbot ordeal, with the main difference being in the shoulders, which have this neat swing and swivel thing going on. It puzzled me the first couple of times, but it's grown on me. It's one of the more solid parts of the toy. Speaking of, I hate how this guy does the leg transformation. Some of the joints are crap, some parts are too tight while others are too loose, and the back part with the tailfins pops off really easily. The legs make transforming him rather annoying for me.
Robot mode has an interesting look. He's got the wide shouldered, bulked out look of Firefly, but with solid connections instead of the thin stalks. It being smoother there makes me feel like it should be better, but it kind of makes him look weird. He's almost like Movie Starscream, but not quite crazy enough to make it the cool kind of unique. But I don't hate it by any means. It gives the design a bit of character, at least. Another weird thing I'm unsure on is his head. I like a unique face design, but this guy's face looks really weird. And the neck has nowhere near as good a range as Firefly and Alpha Bravo's. His articulation in general is way less solid than other CW toys. His elbows, hips and knees all feel loose. It's not horrible, he can hold poses, just don't even try to have him hold the hand/foot gun. And going back to the legs, he has big ugly gaps in them that none of the other Wave 1 Deluxes have. Ugh.
Like all CW Deluxes so far, his accessories include the hand/foot and a personal weapon. The hand/foot has warhead knuckles/toes, which is okay, but not as awesome as Alpha Bravo's GATLING GUN KNUCKLES. His weapon is a double barreled rifle of sorts. It's well detailed, but not nearly as interesting as Firefly's flamethrower or AB's machine gun. Also, it really looks like it's designed to be an arm mounted weapon, but he can't do that.
Overall, Skydive is serviceable, but rather uninspiring. He has an interesting design, but just isn't as solid or fun as his wavemates. Easily the weakest of Wave 1 for me.

Top 10 Transformers of 2020
Long time no see, anyone who still actively watches me! 2020 is over, and well, there's really nothing to say about it that hasn't been said already. At least there were some good toy robots, and pretty much out of tradition at this point I'm gonna share my top 10. 10. Studio Series Sentinel Prime: To be honest I wasn't entirely sure who to give the 10th spot out of a few different figures, but the appeal of finally having a good representation of Movie Sentinel is giving him an edge. I only ever had the DOTM Voyager before and while this one isn't one of the absolute best Studio Series figures, it's a hell of a step up over that thing. He captures Sentinel's regal look and proportions well, there's some pretty nice articulation, and I enjoy the transformation. And really a Studio Series level Sentinel Prime headsculpt was always gonna be irresistible. 9. Studio Series Scrapper: Coming in right after Sentinel, here's his wave mate! Oh man was I excited for this figure. 10 year old
Some interesting new Studio Series listings
It took me like 5 minutes to figure out how to start a journal with this site layout lmao https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/studio-series-leader-grindor-and-ravage-and-86-deluxe-gnaw-and-rotf-sideswipe.1194700/ https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/studio-series-rotf-bumblebee-w-sam-and-studio-series-jolt-listings.1194695/ (Jesus Christ do not read the comments) I pretty much never do a journal on something as small and random as this anymore but I wanted to get some thoughts out about this. "Deluxe 86 Gnaw".... this goes along with the Leader class "86 Grimlock" listing from the other day, which I was a little concerned about but thought might just be a silly one off redeco inspired by the 86 movie's 35th anniversary, or even a typo, but uhhh doesn't seem like it. Looks like we're getting G1 figures in Studio Series now... The Transformers brand has just gotten ridiculous with the G1 at this point. Getting G1 figures in fuckin Studio Series when we're right in the middle of
Toy Fair 2020
It's that wonderful time of the year, Toy Fair! Our first one of the 2020s! Let's talk about some of the Transformers that were shown off, after most of them being leaked the day before, as is starting to become tradition...
EARTHRISE
I've gotta be honest, Generations interests me less and less these days. I just really don't like the WFC trilogy's direction of making everything so G1 cartoon slavish, I miss when Generations figures felt like updates of G1 characters and weren't just about cartoon accuracy. I haven't gotten much at all from Siege and I don't plan to get that much from Earthrise, but hey, I'll talk about what's new.

Studio Series Devastator fully revealed!
It's been years since I made journals about individual pieces of news, buttt this happened today and I just really wanted to make a quick journal on it. The last two Constructicons! And Devastator himself!
Overload looks awesome. I pretty much guessed that he wouldn't be the crab concept, because the Legends toy and every brief appearance he made in the 2009 days used the bipedal design so I figure that's the "final" one, so I'm not disappointed in that. He has the four MASSIVE arms with all of the brutal looking hand weapons so I'm happy there. Really wanna see how effective his articulation will be though, it's hard to tell. Alt mode looks
